Description:   Terracotta mould for head of male comic actor. Head (H. 0.039). Relatively square face with full head of shortish hair arranged in series of buns, one over each ear and one on top of soft peak over forehead. Thick, wavy brows, with right one flying upward. Round eyes, short, wide nose, wide, nearly closed mouth. Long, wide, smooth beard tapering to distinct point. Solid. Handmade from model. Similar to KH-45 (inv. 47, also from Deposit 3 (Stillwell 1948, Corinth 15.1)), KT 24-11 (inv. XIX, 12 (Stillwell 1952, Corinth 15.2)). Mask N (MNC 3rd ed.).
Decoration:   Undecorated.
Material:   Fine reddish yellow and very pale brown clay with rare small tabular angular brown and sparkling inclusions.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow) and 10YR 7/4 (very pale brown)
Condition:   Complete or intact. Complete with some flaking on back, some encrustation in crevices. Sharp mould.

Period:   4th c. B.C.
