Description:   Terracotta mould for figurine of draped, standing, male comic actor carrying animal (head right) on shoulders. Figure stands in three quarter view, turned right. Bent left arm, held close against body, grasps hind legs of animal, right arm grasps forelegs of animal. Head (H. 0.025). Full head of shortish, smooth hair, forming slight peak on forehead. Very thick, prominent, slightly raised brows, round eyes, short, wide nose, wide mouth with slight grin. Long, wide, somewhat pointed beard. Distended belly and wears chlamys fastened under chin over chiton. Solid. Handmade from model. Similar to Athens 5848 (P-589), Leiden II 319, Kavalla 950. Mask K (MMC 3rd ed.).
Decoration:   Undecorated.
Material:   Fine reddish yellow and yellow clay with very rare small spherical and tabular angular black, brown, and sparkling inclusions.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow); 10YR 8/6 (yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Three frgts., mended upper left corner, chipped left side, missing bottom left corner. Fine accretion on all surfaces. Dull mold. Right arm mostly missing, hand preserved.
