Title:   TERRACOTTA MOLD OF LARGE SQUATTING BOY

Description:   Terracotta mold preserving the lower body of nude seated boy, left leg bent double and resting on base in front of body, right leg bent and drawn up to the side with foot resting on base. Lower part of left arm preserved, with roughly indicated hand resting on base. Genitals indicated but very small. High base below. Clay roughly smoothed on exterior of mold. Mold unusually large and possibly 0.16-0.17 m in height originally.
Decoration:   Undecorated.
Material:   Fine reddish yellow clay with few small, white, subangular inclusions and rare small round voids; light grey core
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Preserving lower part of squatting boy; break at right knee, belly, and left elbow.
Manufacture:   F30 M CO Seated
Period:   4th c. B.C.
Chronology:   Middle to 3rd quarter of the 4th c. B.C. (Stillwell 1948, Corinth 15.1, p. 43)
