Description:   Pinax with painted decoration on one side. Clay and paint of excellent quality. A similar pattern, also in outline, is found on a pinax fragment in the Louvre (Monuments grecs II, 1882-84, p. 24, fig. 1).
Decoration:   Surface: part of draped figure(?). Garment applied purple with curved reserved band outlined by incised lines and containing herringbone pattern in dilute black. Probably beginning of similar band at upper edge. Incised line between bands. On reverse: two pairs of very fine scattered lines.
Material:   Hard, grayish yellow clay
Condition:   Fragment. No edges preserved. Dilute paint and applied-purple paint.
