Description:   Globular pyxis with squat globular body, curving in to flat rim, downsloping slightly toward interior, and slightly undercut on exterior. Two joining fragments refired separately as wasters, each pierced with hole D00.011 m. in upper body for pulling in and out of kiln. One frgt. buff, joining frgt. gray.
Decoration:   Irregularly painted with broad horizontal stripes of glaze fired red to red-black; exterior: 3 stripes on body, 1 on top of rim; interior: 3 stripes.looks as if each frgt. painted separately, glaze overlapping some breaks;
Material:   Fine clay with rare fine white inclusions, half of which fired pinkish buff, half gray.
Munsell Color:   Buff: grayer than 10YR 7/6; gray: 10YR 6/2
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining frgts., preserving upper half body to rim, 1/4 circumference; part of lip chipped away.
