Description:   Fragment of a large lid.
Decoration:   Black paint, all gone, leaving brown stain, and probably applied purple. Rays around knob crossed by circumf. line halfway down; from line, pendent spiral hook between each pair of rays. Animal frieze, bordered above by broad black band: head of panther, r., part of goat, 1. Incised semicircles on panther's neck, hatching on forehead and cheeks. Thick f.o. of spoked rosettes, rosettes with incised centers, and spots.
Material:   Hard grayish yellow clay. Thick fabric.
Condition:   Fragment.
Chronology:   Late EC/Early MC
Findspot Description:   Potters' Quarter.
