Description:   Small "skyphos" (identified in new publications as kotyle)with wide concave body. 2 round horiz. Loop handle attached below rim. Broad ring foot, on undersurface flat molded ring with concave protrusion at center.
Decoration:   Conventionalizing style. Brownish black and purple paint. At rim, between lines, fine horiz. Zizag with two rows of small dots above and three below, arranged alternately. Alternate rows black and purple. On body, purple band between black bands, bounded by groups of two or three black or purple lines. Center of handles black. Outer and inner edges of foot purple, undersuface bands of black dots alternating with purple lines, except black zig zag on molded ring. Stelai Shrine A Workshop (Risser 2001).
Material:   Fine very pale brown clay, no visible inclusions.

Condition:   Complete or intact. 6 frgts., preserving complete vessel, except 2 small frgts. Paint partly worn off.
