Description: | Handmade horse and rider figurine; horse stands with weight evenly distributed across all four legs, with joint indicated in back legs, tail raised above level of the back and held horizontally, rider situated very close to the horse's neck. The horse's muzzle is narrow with the head swelling towards the eyes; the horse's ears are not distinguished from the forelock of the mane. Mane forms a very low crest along neck and is more promenient at the crown of the head , where it bends forward. Rider has an applied rounded face with a thick applied polos. The rider's hands attach to the horse's neck just behind the head. Similar to KT 28-121 from the same deposit. | |
Decoration: | Rider's mouth indicated by small incision. Black slip on horse's muzzle and front hoof, black dots for eyes on both horse and rider, black stripe down horse's back and onto tail, rider's polos and hair black; red slip on horse's mane, rider's tunic, and rider's mouth. | |
