Description:   Leaf-shaped lamp with slightly concave bottom, deep flaring body, projecting mould seam, square disk, slightly sunken, framed by flat rim, central fill hole, narrow channel with air hole to large wick hole in tapering nozzle. Solid lug handle.
Decoration:   Bottom: pointed oval groove enclosing signature; rim: herringbone on 2 sides of disk, concentric arcs framing channel; disk: faintly incised cross cut by fill hole, around frame ovules with round end toward center. 2 grooves on handle.
Writing:   inscribed. Inscribed on bottom, Greek: XIO/NHS
Material:   Moderately fine brown clay, fired to gray black in places with common fine white inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Slightly redder than 7.5YR 5/4
Condition:   Complete or intact. Intact. Burning on nozzle.
