Description:   Broneer type XXVIII lamp with flat bottom with two base rings, echinoid body, wide rim, deep concave disk, with two fill holes (1 upper left, 1 lower right), 1 air hole in narrow channel to nozzle, large wick hole, vertical lug handle (unpierced)
Decoration:   Rim with raised dots and two raised squares with circles inside, and two grooves around disk, disk with relief cross in center (for disk see Karivieri 96), also with 3 dotted circles at base of handle, handle with three grooves, and underside with faint star within two circular rings, as Garnett, Hesperia 1975, p. 181, #42, and 2 V-shaped grooves framing nozzle. Similar to Broneer #883 to 888, L 4607 (identical underside except for graffiti), L 1969 307 (Hesperia 1975, #42, similar decoration on rim, but much smaller size).
Material:   Reddish brown clay with 1% angular black and white inclusions and voids

Condition:   Complete or intact. Complete. Burning on nozzle.
