Description:   Broneer Type XXV lamp with flat bottom delineated by single circular groove, shallow echinoid body, narrow rim, deep concave disk framed by four grooves, air hole pierced through first groove around disk, short U-shaped nozzle that impinges on rim framed by groove on either side, small wick hole just outside circumference of rim, vertical lug handle, with two grooves along top edge, pierced. Similar to L-942 (Corinth IV.2, p. 182, no. 508); L-1973-24 (Corinth XVIII.2, p. 27, no. 16, pl. 1).
Decoration:   Dark reddish gray slip all over. disk plain, rim plain except for two rectangular protrusions, L. 0.009, diametrically opposite each other just outside the grooves on rim, with four dots, one on either side of each protrusion, four dots at the base of handle, two in front and two at the sides just within outermost groove on rim, two dots, one on either side of the base of the nozzle.
Writing:   stamp. Stamp across bottom, perpendicular to long axis of lamp, in Latin: NNAELVCI
Material:   Fine pink clay with few fine to small black, rare fine red and white and few sparkling inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Clay: 7.5YR 8/4 (pink), Glaze: 5YR 4/2 (dark reddish gray)
Condition:   Missing parts. Numerous joining fragments, complete except for 1/2 disk, fill hole, and some chips on body and shoulder. Glaze well preserved over all.
