Description:   Type XIX lamp with flat circular base slightly raised, shallow convex body, carinated where moulded rim and body meet, flat disk set off from rim by raised band, air hole on disk by raised band, raised band also surrounds fill hole (Diam 0.013), long nozzle with triangular tip and large wick hole (Diam 0.016). Similar to CL 94 (Corinth IV.2, p. 159, no. 316, pl.6).
Decoration:   Black glazed over all. Moulded decoration on rim of egg-and-dart pattern as no. 55 in Corinth IV.2, p. 67, fig. 29, with dots added next to each braided dart, two relief lines along top of nozzle reaching from wick hole almost to raised band around disk, two dots within nozzle lines, and two more dots perpendicular to the first pair in the space between the end of the raised lines along the nozzle and the raised band around the disk.
Material:   Fine gray clay with frequent medium silver mica and rare black and dark red inclusions.
Munsell Color:   5Y 6/1 (gray)
Condition:   Complete profile. Two joining fragments preserving complete lamp except for handle, small hole on base. Black glaze well-preserved, worn in parts.
