Description:   Moldmade lamp with broad, flat rim, round, concave disk, fin-shaped handle, extending outward from edge of rim.
Decoration:   Maltese cross on disk decorated with raised double circles denoting jewels (cf. Hayes, LRP, Style E(ii), Types 327-328). Raised triangles on rim with incised hatching, set between two raised ridges.
Material:   Hard light reddish brown clay, few white inclusions.
Munsell Color:   5YR 6/4 (light reddish brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt, preserves handle with 20% of rim and disk.
Manufacture:   MM
Period:   Late Roman (5th -6th c AD)
Chronology:   Jeweled cross style E(ii) is 2/4 6th c. (Slane and Sanders, Hesperia 74.2, cat. 38, citing Hayes, LRP, pp. 313-314)
