Description:   Moldmade, Broneer Type XXVIII lamp with wide, horizontal rim, with air hold between disk and nozzle, circular disk, concave with raised framing ring, central fill hole, knob handle, unpierced.
Decoration:   Eight stamped circles on disk around fill hole, herringbone on rim. Molding is indistinct and doesn't match any of Karavieri's rim types (pls. 53-54), perhaps altered. Two transverse grooves on handle.
Material:   Reddish yellow clay, with few white inclusions and mica.
Munsell Color:   5YR, between 7/6 and 6/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Single fragment, top half of lamp broken off along line of mold. Handle, disk fully preserved, with most of rim and none of nozzle.
Manufacture:   MM
Period:   Late Roman (5th -6th c AD)
Chronology:   Cf. Karivieri, cat. 128, with wavy lines on rim (1/2 5th c.); Karivieri, cat. 140, with herringbone on rim (1/2 6th century).
