Description:   Moldmade lamp, Corinthian Imitation of Asia Minor, Broneer Type XXIX Group 1. Small plain disk with central fill hole and framing ring, downward sloping rim, raised nozzle around wick hole, solid handle, flat on top.
Decoration:   Long grooved rays (or petals) extending outward from fill hole to edge of shoulder. Cf. L-1969-35 (Garnett, Hesperia 44.2, cat. 33).
Material:   Hard, reddish brown to dark gray fabric, uneven color from firing in reduced atmosphere. Common white angular and rounded inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Clay: 5YR 5/4 (reddish brown) to 5YR 4/1 (dark grey)
Condition:   Fragment. Three joining fragments, preserve 80% of top half of lamp, including handle and nozzle. Broken along mold seam.
Manufacture:   MM
Period:   Late Roman (5th -6th c AD)
Chronology:   Cf. Garnett, Hesperia 44.2, cat. 33; series is late 5th-mid 6th century.
