Description:   Terracotta solid handmade group of four dancers moving in circle with arms joined around central standing flutist. Figures all have flat wide strip of clay applied around front of head as polos and clay overfold from back to front as head. Each dancer has semi-circular face, broad flat short neck, flattened chest, long flat strips as arms, two pinched together, joining dancers, upper body tilted outward slightly, cylindrical body pinched in slightly before flaring as attaches seamlessly to base. Flute player has longer rounded face covered by double flutes, rt flute covers rt side of face curving outward to rt hand, lt flute covers bottom of face underneath rt flute curving outward to lt hand, broad flat neck widening into sloping shoulders, flat strips of arms attached at shoulder, bent at elbow, stretch forward with rounded hands each grasping end of one flute, rt hand higher than lt, and cylindrical body flaring as attaches to base. Flat circular base, slightly concave underneath central figure, with pared and smoothed edge. Fingerprints over whole piece. Similar in size and style to KT2-11 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 8 pl. 4) and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4).
Decoration:   White slip overall. Red paint on poloi, bottom of rt dancer, and horizontal band on lt side of neck of lt dancer. Black paint on bottom of lt dancer.

Material:   Fine very pale brown clay with few fine sparkling, rare large tabular angular white, and rare small tabular angular black inclusions and rare small spherical angular voids
Munsell Color:   Clay: 10YR 8/3 (very pale brown), Paint: 10R 6/6 (light red) and 10R 6/1 (reddish gray)
Condition:   Fragment. Six joining pieces (arm between dancers joined from Lot 864 in 2007) preserving flutist and two dancers from head to base with arms of dancers joined, lt dancer with lt arm, and quarter of base. White slip and traces of paint. Slightly encrusted.
