Description: | Terracotta solid handmade standing flutist from group of circling dancers with arms joined. Flute player has flat strip of clay applied around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, additional clay strip over face (mouth?) covering edge of two clay rolls of double flute jutting out in inverted V, broad short neck, round strips of arms attached at shoulder stretch forward with rounded hands grasping flutes, flattened chest, upper body tilted backwars and cylindrical body flaring as attaches almost seamlessly to base. Flat circular base, slightly concave underneath central figure, with pared and smoothed edge. Fingerprints on base. Similar to KT2-5 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 3 pl. 5) and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4). | |
