Description: | Terracotta solid handmade group of five dancers moving in circle with arms joined around flutist standing in center. Each dancer has flat strip of clay applied around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, large semi-circular face, broad curving short neck, flattened chest, short flat strips as arms, visible separate arms pinched together, upper body of one and whole body of other tilted outward, cylindrical body flaring into pinched splayed feet as attaches to base. Flat circular base with pared and smoothed edge. Fingerprints barely visible on body and arm of lt dancer. Similar in size and style to KT2-11 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 8 pl. 4) and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4). | |
