Description:   Terracotta solid handmade group of dancers moving in circle with arms joined around flutist standing in center. 2 dancers have wide flat strip of clay applied around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, semi-circular face, broad short neck, flattened chest, long flat strip arms, cylindrical body tilted forward, straightening near base and flaring as attaches to base. Thick bodied flutist stands close to dancers. Rough flat base with pared edge. Fingerprints on chest and lower body. Similar to KT2-11 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 8 pl. 4) and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4).

Material:   Fine reddish yellow and pink clay with few fine sparkling, few medium to large tabular angular tan, rare large platy spherical mudstone, and rare small tabular angular white inclusions and rare small spherical angular voids
Munsell Color:   Clay: 7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow) and 7.5YR 8/4 (pink)
Condition:   Fragment. Several pieces (3 pieces of dancer and 1 of base joined from Lot 863 in 2007) preserving two dancers from head to feet with part of lt arm of one and most of rt arm of the other, stump of flutist and part of base.Traces of white slip. Discolored.
