Description:   Terracotta solid handmade group of dancers moving in circle with arms joined around central standing flutist. Dancer has cylindrical body pinched and flaring as attaches to base. Flute player has flat strip of clay applied around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, additional clay strip over face (mouth?) covering upper end of bent clay roll in shape of inverted V of double flute jutting out , flat strips of arms attached at shoulder curve forward with rounded rt hand and pointed lt hand grasping flutes, and cylindrical body flaring as attaches almost seamlessly to base. Flat base with pared and smoothed edge. Fingerprints on lower body and base. Similar to KT2-11 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 8 pl. 4) and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4).

Material:   Fine reddish yellow clay with light brown core with few fine sparkling inclusions and few small spherical angular voids
Munsell Color:   Surface: 7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow), Core: 7.5YR 6/4 (light brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Five joining pieces (four from Lot 864, one of a dancer body from Lot 863 joined in 2007) preserving dancer from waist to base, flutist from head to feet, and quarter of base. Encrusted.
