Description:   Terracotta solid handmade group of (probably 5) dancers moving in circle with arms joined around central standing flutist. Dancer has body, rectangular in section, flattened chest, back tilted backward, rounded arm extend towards missing dancer, body flaring into two pinched feet as attaches to base. Flutist has flat strip of clay applied around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, two clay rolls of double flute cover face, long neck, flattened chest, arms attached at shoulder, rt arm begins to curve forward, cylindrical body flaring slightly in two pinched feet as attaches to base. Slightly pared, flat round base with flat bottom Similar to MF-11502.

Material:   Fine reddish yellow clay with few fine sparkling inclusions and rare medium tabular rounded voids
Munsell Color:   Clay: 7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow), Paint: 10R 4/8 (red)
Condition:   Fragment. 6 joining pieces (dancer joined from Lot 863 in 2007) preserving 1 dancer from neck to base, part of rt arm, stump of another dancer, flutist from head to feet some of rt arm and top of double flute, and most of base. Traces of white slip and paint.
