| Description: | Terracotta solid handmade group of dancers moving in circle with arms joined around central standing flutist. Dancer has flattened chest, wide flat lt arm extends lt, cylindrical body tilting backwards, pinched and flaring as attaches to base. Flutist has flat strip of clay applied tightly around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, additional clay strip across face covering edge of two strips of double flute jutting out at angle, broad short neck, round strips of arms attached at shoulder curving forward, rounded hands curl around bottom of each flute, upper body tilted backward slightly, flattened cylindrical body, pinched and smoothed as attaches to base. Flat base, concave under flutist, edge pared and smoothed. Fingerprints on base and back of dancer. Similar to KT2-5 and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4). | |
