Description: | Terracotta solid handmade flutist from group of dancers moving in circle with arms joined around central standing flutist. Flutist has flat strip of clay applied tightly around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, additional clay strip across face covering edge of two strips of double flute jutting out at wide angle, broad short neck, round strips of arms attached at shoulder curving forward, rounded hands attached to bottom of each flute, upper body tilted backward slightly, flattened cylindrical body flaring slightly at bottom near base attachment. Fingerprints on polos and bottom of body. Similar to KT2-5 and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4). | |
