Description:   Terracotta solid handmade dancer from group moving in circle with arms joined around central figure (flutist). Dancer has broad neck, flattened chest, arms oval in section, lt arm stretching toward other dancer, upper body tilted backward, cylindrical body pinched near bottom then flaring into two splayed feet with extra clay added at rt foot as attaches to base. Flat roughly circular base with edge pared and smoothed. Similar to M-11480, MF-14347, and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4).
Material:   Fine reddish yellow clay with pinkish gray core with few fine sparkling, rare large tabular angular tan, few small to medium spherical angular white inclusions and few small to large tabular angular voids
Munsell Color:   Surface: 7.5YR 6/6 (reddish yellow) and 7.5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow), Core: 7.5YR 7/2 (pinkish gray)
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining pieces (base from Lot 864 joined in 2007) preserving dancer from neck to feet, lt arm, and part of base. Discolored. Chipped.
