Description: | Terracotta solid handmade group of four to five dancers moving in circle with arms joined around central figure (flutist). Each figure has body, oval in section, flaring into pinched slightly splayed feet as attaches to base. Additional clay wrapped around feet to strengthen join. Flat circular base with pared and smoothed edge. Slight ridges on top of base possibly from potter's smoothing tool. Similar to MF-11489, MF-14358, and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4). | |
Material: | Fine reddish yellow clay with frequent fine sparkling, few small tabular angular tan and few small spherical angular white inclusions and rare small to very large tabular angular voids | |
