Description: | Terracotta solid handmade group of four dancers moving in circle with arms joined around central figure (flutist). Two dancers have wide thick strip of clay applied around front of head as polos, clay overfold from back to front as head, wide small semi-circular face, broad short neck, flattened chest tilted backward slightly, flattened strips of clay as arms pinched together with neighboring arm of dancer. One dancer leaning forward. Each dancer has cylindrical body pinched above feet before flaring and attaching to base. Flat rounded square base with pared and smoothed edge. Fingerprints overall. Similar to MF-11477, MF-11492, and KT2-7, 8, 9, 10 (Corinth XV.2 Class II p. 43 no. 4-7 pl. 4). | |
