Description:   Solid mouldmade figure of comic actor, standing with weight on rt. leg, lt. lightly flexed, rt. arm bent at side holding grapes, lt. holds baby at shoulder. Actor wears hair flat over head with receding hairline, snub nose, long moustache and beard; fat belly; wears cloak or chlamys wrapped around middle and lt. forearm, leaving legs bare; holds small baby, details of which blurred. 2-part mould, modeled in back.Paring marks on arms.
Decoration:   White slip over all. Light blue paint on belly, chest below beard.
Mythology:   Papposilenos, Dionysos
Material:   Fine clay fired pale red at break, pale brown at surface, with fine sparkling and white inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Surface: 7.5YR 7/6 Break: between 5YR 5/6 and 7.5YR 5/6
Condition:   Missing parts. Single frgt., preserving full figure to just below calves; much of surface of right lower leg broken away. Faint remains of color.
