Description:   Egyptian faience standing nude male figurine with support down back advancing with left leg forward. Holds aulos up to mouth, cheeks distinteded from playing instrument. Shoulder length hair. Exaggerated pubic triangle and genitalia; otherwise androgynous features.
Decoration:   Details marked with black glaze including hair, pubic triangle, and dot on left leg. Red paint on face. Support down back pierced at 2/3 height for suspension as amulet. For type, see Webb 1978, cats. 282-303; now also V. Webb 2013-15, "Archaic mixed style faience figurines" in BMC Naukratis: Greeks in Egypt. Similar example T.H.G. James 1962, Perachora 2, cat. Material:   Buff colored faience, matte glaze.
Condition:   Missing parts. Complete, except for missing lower legs. Traces of red paint on face.
