Description:   Terracotta female figurine, part of a protome (?). Hair wavy, rendered with deep incised grooves, framing forehead, parted in mid-forehead, pulled back at sides. On right side of head, cluster of curls, seven in all, arranged in three vertical rows of three, two, and two. Large almond-shaped eyes with lid well-defined by deep groove. Straight bridge of nose. Hollow, backless with smooth interior. Piece similar in size and thickness of walls to MF 11925 (Corinth XVIII.4, p. 112, no. C265, pl. 22).
Decoration:   White paint on face, red paint on hair.
Material:   Fine reddish yellow clay with rare fine brown angular platy inclusions, and no voids.
Munsell Color:   5YR 7/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining frgts preserving right eye and top of nose, corner of left eye, right half of forehead, hair on forehead and right side of head. Paint well-preserved.
