Description:   Marble pyxis lid with short cylindrical knob, slightly convex body, two raised concentric ridges around knob, third ridge near thickened rounded rim; flange on underside. Similar to MF 1971 89. Cf. Zaphiropoulou, "Vases et Autres Objets de Marbre de Rhenee," BCH Suppl. I, 1973, p. 629, figs. 37-38.
Decoration:   Red painted band (W. 0.010) surrounds knob, two dots between second and third ridge, part of pattern (?) of dots in four corners.
Material:   Small crystal, white marble. No veins.
Condition:   Complete profile. Six joining fragments preserve 2/3 of lid, knob intact, sections of rim chipped away on edge. Red paint well preserved around knob, and in two small dots on upper surface of lid.
