Description:   Mouldmade terracotta figurine of nude woman breastfeeding infant. Female figure with sloping shoulders. Arms bent at elbows, bent across abdomen and holding infant, whose body extends across woman's, with feet to proper right. Infant's left arm placed in between woman's breasts, head at or moving toward woman's left breast. Back of figurine lightly modelled, with slight vertical depression indicating spine and long buttocks. Figurine hollow through torso to neck. Indication of fingerprint on back inside behind legs.
Material:   Fine very pale brown clay with frequent rounded tabular voids.
Munsell Color:   10YR 7/4 (very pale brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving body and upper legs of woman, entire infant.
Period:   1 st c. A.C.
