Description:   Small blue faience scarab with intaglio face. Possibly Phoenician origin; scarab type of XXII Dynasty (c. 950-720 B.C.); Skon-Jedele unable to discern meaning.
Decoration:   Carving: horned cow facing left surrounded by characters with incised border; below cow's head, large symbol or design; above cow's back, 3 small symbols.
Writing:   inscribed. Davidson 1952, Corinth 12, p. 233 reports "Mr. Edwards" of British Museum describes impression as "Phoenician in origin" and of "22nd dynasty". Phoenician script with personal name in genitive around cow.
Mythology:   Hathor
Material:   Light blue faience.
Condition:   Complete or intact. Complete. Glaze worn and some abrasions on back.
