Description: | Cup with cylindrical body, flaring slightly at top and bottom. Rim finished with applied coil of dark blue glass. On the sides, a mould-blown pattern of ribs, gradually fading into the surface toward the bottom. Concave bottom with ribs in relief. Coil base with same material as body. Note: in addition to original piece shown on inventory card, there are a bag of 12 frgts. whose numbers were removed in 1975 by GRDW; subsequently identified as MF-7534. Possibly a group of similar frgts. Given one inclusive number but not mentioned on inventory card? (In Corinth 12, p.144 refers to other frgts. From the factory.) Note: rim frgt. And base frgts. With significantly different decorations. Ribs on rim frgt. With thickened glass in between top of ribs; base frgts. Without. Rim frgt. With frequent bubbles; base frgts. Without bubbles, with one prunt. | |
