Title:   LARGE TERRACOTTA STATUETTE: HELLENISTIC

Description:   Figure standing with weight on left leg, right slightly advanced, left hand on hip, rt. arm raised. Wears psplos with long overfold, bound at waist with a cord, ends of which hang down in front. A himation lop over the left shoulder, around the left hand, extending almost to feet. Wears high, theatrical sandals with raised soles and separated large toe. Head perhaps turned to rt. Long curling lcosk reach the shoulders. White slip on flesh, pink on garmen except on border of overfold, cord, and center of each breast, all of which gilded. Daubs of red on various parts of figure. Back smooth, unmodelled. Small circular vent, D. ca 0.035 m. Hollow, made in several moulds
Material:   Fine buff-tan clay, scattered black inclusions. Interior: slightly pinker than 10YR 7/4 (no paraloid)
Condition:   Missing parts. Numerous joining fragments, complete except for head, right arm, large portion of back, misc. frgts.
