Description:   Lid of large sarcophagus with figure reclining on cushion. Cushion bound or decorated with groups of 4 convex bands framed by thin flat bands, which run across width of couch in front of figure and curve around top. Figure reclines on sloping pillow, on couch with outturned headboard. Missing head to lt., legs outstretched to rt., with rt. slightly bent and raised, lt. presumably bent but flat, with foot, missing toes, projecting from beneath back of rt. leg; foot bare. Drapery over lower half of figure arranged in series of parallel catenaries over leg, with fan-like arrangement of folds over couch top. In back, a vertical element 0.09 m. thick continues above the top of the pillow; its top broken away. Figure and front surface of couch carefully finished; claw chisel on couch top behind figure, on rt. end except for a smooth band 0.03 m. wide at top; possible point on back.
Material:   Fine-crystalled white micaceous marble.
Condition:   Fragment. Three joining frgts., preserving two long sides, rt. end; broken at lt., missing most of figure, and broken along back top.
