Description:   Over life-sized bearded head, ca. frontal; hair forms smooth cap over head to nape of neck in back, and nearly to eyebrows in front; hair locks rendered by shallow, wavy grooves all radiating from crown; mass framing face undercut by drill channel. Heavy eyebrows that meet above nose; large shallow-set eyes with swollen area beneath brow; narrow upper lid offset by groove, overlaps lower lid; small "chip" near upper lid for each pupil. Crease on flat cheeks at inner corners of eyes. Nose slightly down-curving, nostrils drilled; heavy lips framed by moustache. Short beard with shallow wavy locks; ear channels also shallowly cut. Long neck ending in rounded tenon, which begins in back just below hair line; tenon rough-picked, with band of claw or fine long point strokes along upper edge.
Material:   Fine white marble.
Condition:   Missing parts. Head intact to base of tenon except for tips of nose and beard; iron stains on right ear.
