Description: | Large marble rectangular block with relief of female figures and wreaths of flowers and grain. Egg and dart moulding above, bead below. | |
Decoration: | On all sides: large egg-and-dart at top; below it small bead-and-reel. On W. Side: large garland and plain disk. On N. End: only garland. On E. Side: garland, which apparently stretched across entire block, and two draped figures, 0.43 apart. Between them, and 0.14 from one at l., is object extending from bottom to wreath; something on it which is seen above wreath. Figure at left hold seomthing in her extended left hand, and there are slight remains of something that probably was held in right hand on other figure. Few letters of inscription (see I-5) on east side. Garland is in high relief, but heads of grain and leaves appear in very low relief and die away into background. | |
