Description:   Draped female in active pose, perhaps dancing; movement indicated by asymetry of body: rt. shoulder significantly higher than lt., rt. side of torso is extended compared to the bunched material of the lt. Upper rt. arm hangs straight down. Apparently lt. arm extended away from body. Hole (D00.005) in center of neck for attachment of head. Wears a peplos, belted under the breasts. Joining of material at shoulders is not depicted. Drapery indicated by incised lines, forming a V between breasts and bagging at the side. Closely-spaced folds cover torso below belt. Back of figure only roughed out--no detail of body or garmet depicted.
Material:   Fine-crystalled white marble (D00.001)
Condition:   Fragment. One piece preserving upper body, neck to waist. Head and both arms missing, right shoulder preserved. Surface weathered and chipped.
