Description:   Marble flare of drapery with two folds coming off left side of statuette of Artemis (S-1999-9). Folds of drapery crisp and angular. Outermost edge of drapery with strut (p.L. 0.005, p.W. 0.006). Bottom of flare of drapery concave, with thin drill forming the center. Front very smooth, back is well smoothed with some rasp marks showing. See Stirling 2008, Hesperia 77:1, fig. 12, for reconstruction drawing with placement on statuette.
Decoration:   Narrow black band along the hem.
Material:   Fine-grained white marble.
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving flare of drapery broken on one side. Broken strut. Small root discolorations.Traces of red pigment show at hem on back.

Period:   Middle Roman (2/2 2nd c-4th c AD)
Chronology:   Middle Roman by context; 2nd or 3rd c. according to Stirling.
