Description:   Statuette of Pan, seated on a sloping rock, rt. leg crossed over lt., both elbows on knees. Shoulder- length hair arranged in straight coarse locks. High triangular forehead with crease, sharp brows, deepset eyes with drill at inner corners, flat cheeks, small mouth framed by drooping moustache with possible drill at corners, long straight beard. Upper half of torso bent foreward slightly, making 2 sharp folds at waist, lower legs animal; right hoof (missing) worked separately, and pinned with small round dowel D00.002. Wears animal skin, paws of which tied under beard; hangs down back and rests on rock to proper rt. of figure. Rock slopes down from back to front with roughly faceted and picked surface. Hole D00.018 m. pierces rock in front at bottom at an oblique angle. Bottom roughly picked.

Condition:   Missing parts. Complete except for most of right and all of lt. forearms; top of head, hair above rt. half of forehead, nose, part of beard, animal paws broken away; tip of rt. leg broken and mended. Part of drapery broken in back along lt. edge.
