Description: | Part of the base of the left column is broken off; at center, base of relief is damaged by a circular cutting max. diam. 0.12m, H 0.06m, all acroteria. this marble votive relief is within an architectural framework of two columns which support an architrave surmounted by acroteria. the back of the relief is roughly dressed; both sides are smooth. The subject is a funeral banquet. In the right foreground, a male figure draped from the waist down reclines on a couch, left elbow supported on pillows. Torso is fully frontal; head faces front and slightly to his left and down. He holds an oval object in his left hand, a bowl or phiale (?) an din his right, a rhyton. to the left of this figure, sitting on the couch is a draped female figure. She faces right, body in 3/4 view, head in profile. Her right leg dangles over the side of the couch while the right foot rests on a stool. With both hands, she offers a bowl or basket of something to the male figure. Directly in front of the couch is a table, funeral cakes upon it. to the left of the couch in reduced scale, is the nude figure of a youth, head in profile as he faces the banquet scene to the right. in his left hand he holds a tambourine and in his right, a pitcher. To the right of this figure is a large amphora. Directly over the youth's head is the head of a horse in shallow relief, also facing right. | |

Condition: | Complete or intact. The only major damage to this relief is on the framework - on each of the columns, a horizontal cut the width of the column, 0.02m high and 0.01m deep, a vertical cut on the right column 0.02 m high and 0.01m deep. | |
