Description:   Standing male figure, over life-size; weight on r. leg, l. leg slightly bent; roughly worked support behind l. leg; l. arm bent, held at side; l. forearm originally projected forward; r. arm sharply bent and brought across chest, hand holding fold of cloth; wears tunic, visible at neck; Roman toga draped in unusual manner; umbo pulled out slightly over stomach, held up by r. hand; sinus pulled up over r. shoulder, covering r. arm; licinia of toga falls onto top of l. foot and touches plinth next to foot; wears boots, showing shape of toes on r. foot; back roughly worked; rounded plinth, edges closely following outer contours of feet, slightly undercutting side of r. foot; surface very weathered, tool marks difficult to discern; claw chisel on side of support; traces of rasp over r. foot; flat chisel on back; drill work in folds on upper body; point on plinth. Arrangement of toga folds most closely comparable to figures on Ara Pacis.
Material:   Fine-crystalled white marble with traces of mica
Condition:   Fragment. Original frgt.: rt. foot without heel and plinth. To this added statue from neck to lt. foot. Lacks head, l. hand (dowelled on), two fingers of r. hand; edges of drapery chipped; surface weathered and discolored.
