Description:   Portrait medallion on central tympanum block of small pediment; very high relief; rough-picked on back and l. side of block; r. side somewhat better finished with rough point; dowel hole in top edge. Portrait of middle-aged man; bust showing upper half of chest; wears fillet and ivy (?) wreath; tunic and himation; short beard; hair combed forward around face in comma-shaped locks curving inward toward central point over forehead; two vertical lines incised in center of brow; sharply carved eyebrows; eyes have prominent upper lids; flat eyeball and shallowly drilled pupils; pupil almost touches upper lid; inner corners of eyes and nostrils drilled; cheeks broad and flat; ears coarsely executed and placed slightly too low on head; drapery flat and summarily executed; folds lightly drilled; chisel marks on background; outer edge of frame decorated with continuous floral pattern which originates in symmetrical leaf motif at bottom of bust; head connected to background by rough-picked bridge; top of head not carefully finished; surface very weathered; identity of portrait unknown.
Material:   Fine-crystalled white marble.
Condition:   Complete or intact. Complete except for breaks at nose, and chin of portrait
