Description: | From left lower side and probably belly with full rounded curve, and slight swells for modelling of two ribs. Along upper part base of wing with tips of four feathers in shallow relief one from the other. Lowest feather in high relief from body suggesting that near top of leg. Beneath it impression of something curving downward away from feathers, leg attachment ? At lt. break along base of feathers a slight ridge. Either is step from scaled side to convert feathers, or edge of latter. Wall thick, being thinnest at ca. middle of piece. Finger strokes on interior in different directions. 2 pieces join on a wet joint. At upper break edge of small diagonal hole though surface of feather, directed upwards, crossing 2nd hole cut nearly vertically from surface. Poss. side of 3rd hole further rt. | |
Decoration: | Body surface plain with very faint luster. Feathers alternating red, black with reserved and black outline. | |
Condition: | Fragment. Two joining frgts., broken all around, surface chipped. | |
