Description: | Pointed aryballos with tiny disk foot, largely hollowed out on undersurface. Tall ovoid body with max. diam. ca. H. 0.050, low rounded shoulder, tall cylindrical neck H. 0.016, broad horizontal rim; vertical strap handle from shoulder to rim. | |
Decoration: | Painted in red-brown glaze, added purple: foot reserved; stripe at base of body; band of tongues, tips up H. 0.021; stripe; broad glazed band H. 0.035 incised with scales, directed down, each scale double incised with impressed dot near base, alternately purple and brown-red. Stripe at edge of shoulder, on shoulder band of glazed tongues; neck, underside of rim and edge reserved; 4 concentric glazed rings on top of rim; stripe down lt. edge of handle, row of horizontal stripes down back. | |
Material: | Pale pinkish-buff fine clay with at least 2 poss. popped inclusions. | |
