Description:   Amphora with flaring ring foot, ovoid body, high straight neck ending in a raised moulding below projecting lip which is slightly convex on upper face and slanted outward. Double-arched horizontal rolled handles on lower part of shoulder.
Decoration:   Foot and body glazed to just below handle zone, with 2 evenly spaced, sets of triple reserved lines 5 bands below handle zone. Zone divided on each side into two panels by sets of 7 verticals. A long-necked water-bird facing lt. in one, rt. in other. Filling ornament of chevron columns, dot-rosettes, dots in sets of four, and blob or star rosettes. Beside handle attachments columns of dots with blob rosettes above; a double curved line outlines each handle attachment. Under the handles sets of 7 parallel vertical zigzags; on their faces ladder pattern. Five bands above the handle zone; the upper shoulder glazed to its junction with the neck. A zone of parallel vertical zigzags bordered above and below by triple bands, around lower part of neck. Around center a hatched maeander to lt. At one point a section of plain key pattern where not enough room for a maeander. Four bands below the moulded rim, which is glazed solidly. Unglazed inside.
Material:   Buff Corinthian clay with creamy surface; thick rather dull black glaze.
Condition:   Complete or intact. Many joining fragments, complete except for fragments esp. at shoulder.
