Description:   Small handmade figurine of centaur: horse body and stump legs; human torso with large grotesque head: pointed ears, upright tufts of hair between ears, enormous projecting nose, round blobs for eyes, slit mouth with ring of clay for lips, round-tipped beard with vertical slashes, rt. arm bent, hand on hip, left possibly extended; genitals modeled.
Decoration:   Decorated in red-brown paint: on hair and beard, outline on ears, outline with dot on eyes, long stripe down nose; horizontal stripes on body, arms, front of forelegs; vertical stripes down back of forelegs and back legs; long wide stripe from back of head to stump tail, with vertical stripes on torso.
Mythology:   Centaur
Material:   Fine pale brown clay with rare fine voids.
Munsell Color:   10YR 7/4 to 10YR 7/5
Condition:   Missing parts. Single frgt., intact except for left arm and tips of two forelegs.
