Description:   Relief slab, sawn smoothly in back; tooling unclear on upper edge. In relief, part of 2 covert and 6 primary feathers from one wing of a griffin facing rt. Wing tips schematically worked in low relief, but top edge of body rises to a high relief format. Feathers smoothed of all tooling.
Material:   Fine-crystalled, highly micaceous marble with horizontal veins.
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining frgts., front, back and upper edge; broken remaining edges; some chips from edge of wing; heavily weathered, yellowed.
