Description:   Skyphos with flaring ring foot, rounded resting surface, nippled undersurface, deep flaring body with convex profile, slightly inset and nearly vertical rim, round lip; 2 horizontal canted handles attached to upper body.
Decoration:   Glazed over all, fired black to red-brown at rim, except: undersurface, band below handles, handle zone, inside of handles - all reserved; in handle zone on both sides: bearded satyr holding club, chasing maenad to rt., maenad holds thyrsos, head turned back; framing palmettes with single petal, on cream ground: on one side maenad more upright than on other.

Material:   Fine light red clay.
Munsell Color:   Slightly yellower than 5YR 6/6
Condition:   Complete or intact. Intact; cream background partly scraped away; glaze worn on one handle.
