Corinth Object: V 144
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Object
Name:   V 144
Title:   VOTIVE LEG
Category:   Votive
Category Code:   V
Object Number:   144
Old Number:   V 305 lapsed, assigned in 1990
Description:   Hollow, mouldmade upper leg and part of buttock, with suspension holes on either side (diam. 0.009) and located below buttock. This object was found by itself in a drawer in the Asklepieion room, without an inventory number and possibly broken during storage, and has been assigned this inventory number on the basis of similarities between the object and De Waele's original description of V 144, though it could possibly also match De Waele's description of V 141. It furthermore appears that V 305 was assigned to this object in 1990, as it was unclear at that time whether this object had been previously inventoried. V 305 has been allowed to lapse, as it was deemed more important to preserve De Waele's context information where possible (and whether this object is V 141 or V 144, the original votive deposit remains the same).
Decoration:   Red paint, possibly white slip underneath paint.
Material:   Fine white clay, pink surface, with rare, very large, rounded, spherical, white inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Surface: 7.5YR 8/3 (pink), Core: 10YR 8/2 (white)
